Features of Working with Fertilizers in Samomes
Guide on choosing measurement units, element forms, and working with remineralizers when adding fertilizers
Choosing Measurement Units

- For liquid fertilizers: usually g/L (grams per liter), but there are compositions with indication in % (percent)
- For powder fertilizers: always percentages, as it indicates content in dry matter
💡 Refer to the label — use the same units indicated by the manufacturer, or use the ratio: 10 g/L = 1% for conversion to the required units.
Concentration Accuracy
- Enter data with the precision indicated on the label
Choosing Element Forms
Nitrogen compounds:
- If the label says "total nitrogen" → choose N
- If it states "nitrate nitrogen" → choose NO₃
Phosphorus compounds:
- Most common is POâ‚„ (phosphate)
- Simple phosphorus P
- Pâ‚‚Oâ‚… is rare
Recommendation: When in doubt about element form, choose the most common option or consult with a more experienced aquarist.
Working with Remineralizers
- Be sure to enable the "This is a remineralizer" toggle if selecting or adding a remineralizer.
- Specify application instructions in the description.
- For powder forms, use percentages as the measurement unit.
When to Use
- After purifying water with RO or distillation
- With naturally soft water
- To achieve optimal parameters for plants
Target Parameters
- For most plants: GH 6-8°
- For hard water plants: GH 8-12°
- For soft water plants: GH 3-6°
