Example of Modifying the Ready-Made Recipe Kuban Aquariums Phosphate

The standard Kuban Aquariums Phosphate recipe may not suit your aquarium's individual needs. For example, if you want to achieve a precise phosphate concentration increase of 0.1 mg/L when adding 1 ml of fertilizer, you need to adapt the base recipe to your requirements. Also, the standard volume of 1000 ml may be too large for aquariums up to 120 liters — such quantity will last more than a year, which can lead to fertilizer spoilage.

In this example, we'll show how to modify the recipe to obtain the desired concentration and a more practical volume of 500 ml for a 120 L aquarium.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Open the Recipe Creation Form

  1. In the Samomes main menu, select the "Recipes" section.

Step 3: Set the Required Fertilizer Volume

  1. In the "Reagents" field for the "Water - H2O" reagent, specify the desired fertilizer volume. In this case, enter the value "500" ml.
    • The finished fertilizer volume is determined by the amount of water in the recipe.

⚠️ Attention: The system will warn you if you exceed the maximum solubility of the potassium monophosphate reagent.

Step 4. Set Target Specific Concentrations

  1. Click the "Calculate reagent masses" button

  1. Select aquarium

In the opened window:

  • Select your aquarium from the dropdown list (if created previously)
  • Or enter the aquarium volume manually in the "Aquarium volume" field

  1. Enter desired concentrations

For phosphorus (P), specify 0.1 mg/L per 1 ml.

  • This means that when adding 1 ml of fertilizer, the phosphorus concentration will increase by 0.1 mg/L when adding 1 ml of fertilizer.

  1. Click the "Save" button in the calculation window
  • The system will automatically recalculate the masses of all reagents and display them in the "Reagents" table
